About the R&D Controls Specialist Role – Automation and Control Systems in Ventilation

As our new R&D Controls Specialist, you will play a vital part in the development and optimisation of control systems for advanced ventilation solutions within our Pressure Differential Systems (PDS) and Carparks solutions. Your focus will be on designing, testing, and improving control algorithms, PLC logic, and related system components, ensuring maximum efficiency, reliability, and user-friendliness. Main Responsibilities – Controls Engineering, Algorithm Development, and System Integration

• Design, develop, and validate control systems and software for ventilation products for Carparks and PDS, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs)
• Analyse requirements, propose technical concepts, and create functional specifications for new control features and product upgrades
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and product development teams to ensure seamless system integration
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals
• Participate in prototype assembly, testing, and debugging, both in laboratory and field environments
• Support internal stakeholders with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor industry trends in automation, controls, and IoT to contribute innovative ideas for future product enhancements

Qualifications and Competencies – Automation Engineering, Controls Programming, and Project Delivery

• Technical degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, or similar field
• Experience with control systems design and programming (e.g. with Schneider or similar PLC platforms)
• Familiarity with HVAC, ventilation, or building automation systems is advantageous, but not required
• Ability to read and produce technical documentation in English
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
• A proactive, collaborative mindset – willing to share knowledge and work across disciplines
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
